Seasonal allergies, no thanks. This nutrient-dense tincture is packed with herbal antihistamines, ready to get you through this allergy season. You will also find immune-supporting & lymph-moving herbs in this tincture, which will help you get through cold & flu season!
About the Herbs:
- Stinging Nettle is a powerful yet natural antihistamine. It has been used for centuries for seasonal allergies and inflammation of mucous membranes in the nasal pathway. By blocking histamine production, nettle is very useful in reducing allergic responses. If that doesn't sell you on this cute prickly little plant, nettle also blocks histamine receptor sites as well as the enzyme tryptase, which promotes the effects of histamines. This herb is extremely nutrient-dense and has the highest amount of chlorophyll among the herb kingdom. It is often considered a green "superfood" because of its nutrient-rich contents, being high in various vitamins, minerals, protein, & carotenoids.
- Echinacea Purpurea is known for its immunostimulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. This herb contains high amounts of alkylamides, which support healthy inflammatory responses in the sinuses. Studies show that it even has the potential to prevent inflammatory responses that come with the H1N1 flu virus. It works by increasing T-cell activity to fight off infection and it is high in polysaccharides which help protect cells from viruses and bacteria. It is also a lymph-moving herb, supporting lymphatic drainage and lowering inflammation.
- Cordyceps is highly valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine for a reason! This slender little mushroom is a powerful adaptogen that offers immune, lung, and kidney support. Adaptogens are a form of herbal medicine that promote homeostasis and help your body adapt to stress in a healthy way by regulating the stress hormones (like cortisol) in your body. Many herbalists and athletes use cordyceps to support physical energy levels and healthy stamina. Recent studies show that cordyceps suppresses inflammatory cytokines like TSLP, which are responsible for the development of mast cells.
- Peppermint is another natural antihistamine! Thanks to its menthol compounds, this herb helps clear mucus and open the airways. Research has also shown its efficacy for treating headaches, specifically sinus headaches in this case as it aids in reducing sinus tension.
