About the Herbs:

  • Echinacea Purpurea is known for its immunostimulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. This herb contains high amounts of alkylamides, which support healthy inflammatory responses in the sinuses. Studies show that it even has the potential to prevent inflammatory responses that come with the H1N1 flu virus. It works by increasing T-cell activity to fight off infection and it is high in polysaccharides which help protect cells from viruses and bacteria. It is also a lymph moving herb, supporting lymphatic drainage and lowering inflammation.
  • Goldenseal is an antimicrobial, meaning it will kill foreign microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungus, etc.) and stop their growth. With that said, it also has immune stimulating effects, making it the perfect addition to an immune tonic! This root also holds the ability to soothe mucous membranes.
  • Elderberry is widely known for its ability to strengthen immune defenses during the cold and flu season. It is also extremely high is antioxidants, protecting your cells from free radicals, oxidative stress, and airborne toxins.

    Dosage: 20-60 drops 3-4 times a day. For best absorption, use under the tongue.

    Allergies: If you have any allergies to plants in the daisy family (including ragweed, marigolds, and chrysanthemums), this product may put you at risk of having an allergic reaction to echinacea. 

    In addition, you should not take echinacea if you are currently taking immunosuppressants. It may interact with these medications.
